Romancing the Stone

Cartagena, Colombia

I was thinking of Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner as our taxi passed by the Fort in the Old City. Having been here numerous times within a few months, we decided not to go on any tours. Bert needed some medication and so we went from one pharmacy to another in search of his medicine.

I was freaking out while at the counter of the pharmacy. It was thinking it may not be the same substance as what we get in North America. In my slow Spanish, I asked the pharmacist and she carefully explained that it was the same drug that my husband needed.

Welcome to Colombia! Yes, was like a message from heaven!

The historic clock tower gate is the main entrance to the Old City of Cartagena, Colombia.

For the record it was not a dig at the South American pharmaceuticals. With Bert's medicine in hand, we headed back to the ship.
