Welcome to our world of travel, where every journey has a story, every destination has something to discover, and the memories often last long after the suitcase is unpacked.

Long before travel blogs, social media, and the internet became part of everyday life, I was writing about the places we visited, the food we discovered, the people we met, and the experiences that made each journey special. I wanted to remember not only where we went, but what it felt like to be there.

For more than 28 years, travel was a way of life for my husband, Bert, a retired pilot, and me. Together, we travelled extensively across more than 100 countries and seven continents, experiencing the world in many different ways.

We’ve driven across mainland Europe, spent months exploring Canada and the United States by road, traveled across Australia, spent extended time in Paris, explored Asia extensively, and experienced European winters and Christmas markets in Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria and Switzerland.

We’ve also travelled the world by sea, taking long voyages and cruises through Asia, Australia, South America, the South Pacific, the Mediterranean and beyond.

Our travels have taken us from luxurious five-star hotels and Michelin -starred restaurants to charming bed-and-breakfasts and simple local establishments. We’ve learned that some of the most memorable experiences don’t necessarily come with a high price tag. Sometimes, they come from a small restaurant, a friendly local, an unexpected discovery, or simply taking the time to explore a place beyond the usual tourist path.

That philosophy is at the heart of this blog.

Losing my husband last year changed my life in ways I never imagined. But the love we shared, the places we traveled, and the memories we created will always be a part of me. While that chapter of our journey has changed, my love for travel remains. So I chose to keep going—carrying those memories with me as I created new ones along the way.

The journey continues with the same curiosity, joy, and love of discovery that brought us around the world together.
