Capetown, Western Cape, South Africa

We had a one and a half day stay at Capetown so we decided that the best way to maximize our stay was to use the Hop On - Hop Off Bus. Of all the cities we had visited, Capetown's Hop On Hop Off Bus gave the best bang for the buck. At the equivalent of US$15.00 per person, one can choose between the Red Line, or the Blue Line. For the equivalent of US$25.00 one can use both the Red Line and the Blue Line plus the addition of the Canal Cruise.

We used the Blue Line and were able to go around Hout Bay and Mariner's Wharf and brought back some memories when we first visited Capetown. This trip clearly reminded us of our friend's Anton and Hannetjie and their kids Tanya and Ewald who also lived here.

After completing our route on the Blue Line Bus, we went back to the Victoria and Alfred Wharf, and had a sampling of some South African food and beer. Apart from good food and good wine, South Africa also has some of the best beer. At the wharf, there were several groups of impromptu bands and they sang and played their drums under a huge ficus tree. Our calamari and boervoorst sausage dinner with fries cost us only US$7.00 and the 500 ml. Beer was US$3.00. We had a delicious meal and once again, Capetown blew our minds with the sights, sounds and taste It was truly an experience to remember!

It's great to see the famous C. Town where we have not visited yet. It's look like you had fun there. Thanks for the tips about city transportation. From Kim L., on Apr 12, 2014 at 08:56 p.m
