Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast is more than just a treasure of Europe.
It offers extraordinary journey. Cliff hugging roads leads to coastal villages with vineyards, terraced farms and dramatic seascapes. I can understand now why anybody can be dazzled by its charms Though it has been touted as place for celebrity vacationers . It 's one of the most ravishing drive and each bend of the road gives one an expansive panorama of azure water, neat vineyards and cliff hugging candy colored houses. The wind blowing and coursing down the mountains.
With more than forty years of experience as an airline pilot, logging in thousands of hours in airports and layovers, Bert never got to go to the famed Isle of Capri. Now, we have the opportunity to see and get to this island for celebrity vacationers.
Before us loomed the Amalfi coast with indented coves and stony outcrops. This was the start of a hundred stops along this breathtaking inlets and promontories. Out to sea, rose the Isle of Capri, surrounded by distant sailboats and monopolizing our attention. To the left ? Reared the mountains and to the right? The most breath taking slopes and stretches of shoreline with blooming bougainvilleas.
One of the most stunning views on Amalfi Coast.
Cobbled lanes, elegant red roofed villas. On the beach, dotted with tall umbrella. Holiday villas scattered along the coast.
Cute lanes are crowded with bakers, butchers, high end shops.
We treated ourselves to an Italian lunch complete with the Million dollar ambiance and view of the water. From our table, Amalfi coast looked more extraordinary. The rest of the trip was spent on
We headed back to the ship having seen, felt, smelled and captured Capri. We I'm glad that Bert finally made it to Capri!
