New Wine Delight at Down Under

Barrosa Valley an hour north of Adelaide is age perfection. Sandstone cottages built circa 1860 are the kind of wineries you see here. Visitors can follow rows of gnarled grapevines to find more than 150 wineries and 80 tasting rooms. There are small batch surprises such as Grenache and Rousanne. Another true essence of the Hunter valley is through its acclaimed robust wine and cuisine.

The best places to go wine tasting in Australia include Barossa Valley, Yarra Valley, McLaren Vale, and Margaret River.

Today we experienced the legendary Hunter valley. The two -hour drive stops for a coffee and lunch at Oscar’s.

Finally, we descended into Hunter Valley where the air was warm and the smell of ripe fruit perfumes the air.

The road is picturesque and the vineyard vistas are beautiful. Among our stop was the McGuigan Wines and the estate is surrounded by neat rows of grape vines.

The rustic tasting room is for everyone whether you are a connoisseur or a new to wine tasting. Warm hospitality is paired with fine wine. It has been producing great wines for many years since 1880 and has become synonymous to Australian wine to enthusiasts all over the world.

The owner greeted us and offered us a pour of the estate merlot while explaining how many types of wine they produce in the estate.

The sun is dipping when we got to the third estate passing sunflowers and clusters of other plants.

Visiting Hunter valley truly offers opportunities for indulgence across every pocket of the region. Oenophiles may sip glass after glass!
